LONGAN?! REALLY?!




THis is my first post since May i think.. haha. well i’ve been bz.

few days ago. my friend brought me to his house to get something.

he plucked this red thing on the table. gave to me in the car. and said.

NAH LENGENG! (LONGAN)

i went WHAT?! SERIOUS?!!!

the SHELL its hard. harder than the mangosteen .

its either u bang it on the table till it cracks or u have a short  weird and twisted thumb like mine. then u can press it with ease. lol.

but when i opened it. it looks like LYCHEE. i asked: is it lychee.

he said NO. ITS LENGENG! NOT LYCHEE!

JAPAN BOAT TAKOYAKI, HILLS @ PULLMAN




KAPAL JEEPUN hahah yea the first time i had this was in Kota Kinabalu. Merdeka Plaza i think. havent post about it yet. well now they have a branch in Kuching, at Hills shopping Mall. in KK it cost RM2.80 here it cost RM3.00. kanina kui no kak. but well its ok. i still wanna buy haha.

tadah, yes RM1 for 1 takoyaki. worth it? erm at least its bigger and filled with much more ingredients in it. and of course more delicious.

i know many in kuching thinks its expensive. well while i was in KK. the queue was so damn long. i have to wait like Big Apple Donut just opened.

serious man. but here its still slow. typical skeptical kuching ppl. we cannot blame them.

Durian MoonCake

Few weeks ago. yea weeks yo! i havent been updating ahah.. cant find the right time. kinda lost the spark to update. cos i cant find the words.

ok my excuse. FB ADDICTION LOL!

since ive so much to update. and since im gonna go KK. why not update something better than nothing before the month end.

AHAH!. here is the Moon Cake that my neighbour Yien gave me. went to her house to collect. normally u make u send rite..

DURIAN is THE KING!

DURIAN! YEAH! been craving for it. Mom too craving for it. so she suggested we us to buy at 3rd mile old market. normally i dunno where to buy and who to trust. cos kch’s durian semakin mahal.

and so we went to 3rd mile old market around 9 or 10pm. here is the trick. u want ur durian to be cheap and nice. thats the time ur gonna go get it.

why? cos they wanna tutup kedai and pulang rumah tido liaw hor.

first he said one for RM7, and we went WHUA! SO SMALL LER…

by experience we somehow know how to choose by sniffing and holding the durian. those with sharper thorns. where ur palm gets very sensitive.

that my friends, IS CALLED FRESH FROM THE FARM!.

the blardy thing is tat. they lied about is. THEY SAID ITS FROM SERIAN. but friends from serian said tat ONLY GOT FLOWER HOR… even baby durian not out yet.

after wasting some 5-10 minutes. the boss beh tahan.. mau balik looking very sleepy. he said. 7 BIJI RM35. but at the end we paid RM33. so eh . cheaper ler. thank God…

since so cheap. we meh meh sapu lo without any second thought.

home we went. Gave Cynthia 2.

becos to our surprise. all 7 ARE GOOD DURIANS!.. very lemak and bitter.. some are sweet too! all are perfect.

just look at the texture… tho its smaller in size. all tat matter that. ITS NICE.

sedap i tell u. i dunno where is the real location they get this nice durians. i know its not from Serian. where ever it comes from. its nice.

in KL. Durian Price is so damn expensive. even before when i was there studying and working. back then was in 2003. that time was with the shell its RM6 per KG. wtf. I DUN EAT THE SHELL LER LAU pAN!

but we know where to get good and most of all Cheap durians.

CHERAS IS THE ANSWER! RM1 for i biji.. ppl from KL dun eat durian that taste bitter. as of wad i see and know. they like the XO LAH!. wad ever name they gave D26 or D27. who da hell cares. all i care and all i want is

DURIAN with no extra names. ahhaha! KHO BAK is the one i want.

the KHO BAK i had in CHERAS RM1 for 1 durian. we had 10 durians. 3 of us.

we almost PONG CHA!

back in kch. heres wad i had. and im happy with… Hui Sing round about durian looks and smell nice. but when u open. it sometimes disappoint u.

Lemak durians comes with thick fillings. and the HOOD is tiny…

so u can see the “HUD” difference between the normal durian and the Lemak ones. u compare the LIULIAN HUD ok!

kenot finish ah. put in container and keep in freezer.

and i still have in my freezer. if u love them ur gonna crave for them or ur already sick of eating them. but if u hate them. im so sorry for u.

SO THE KING OF FRUITS IS HERE. can the tahi cicak escort them to the market… TEPI DULU TEPI DULU!!!!!!!!




Jagung.

the Jagung is back!. yea bought 3 Ikat of 5pcs per Ikat. so its some 15 pcs of Jagung/ sweet corn to gulp!

wad ever they said about the Taiwan Breed, American Breed, Japanese Breed.

all tat im not interested or even wanna have a try.

this is the Batu Kawa RPR Breed. and its good enough for me. compared to others.

Taste and Texture are different too from others.

and most of all its CHEAP.

for Rm3 i can get 5pcs per IKAT. ain’t tat cheap.

never a chance i get a rotten one. wanna know why.

because when i buy. its fresh from the farm. meaning. its very fresh. meaning when we go there. there and then they pluck the Sweet Corn for us.

we are their regular customers. always i will call my friends who wants or Love sweet corns. especially my neighbor LOL.

so most of the time. when the Aunty sees me. she will go. MAU SAPU HABIS KA. (do u wanna take everything) most of the time if it’s during the evening time. where there are 5-7 Ikats left. i will… eheh…

i dunno wads their healthy or unhealthy thing about these sweet corn.

from my mom’s info. she said tat it will get u to shit pretty often.

which is good.

so hopefully i can get some today after bringing Cynthia home.

2 weeks ago. before going to Barsaga for dinner with the gang celebrating the Superstar Edwin’s birthday. i went to have my late lunch at Sushi King.

Dinner at Westwood, Kuching.

had a Birthday celebration dinner for sister Sylvia and Brother Eric at Westwood. again. im the first to reached. everyone was little late. when i called Susanna she was still home. wahrao eh. hahaha. but thank God i didnt wait tat long haha.

i was on STARVATION mode. so i ordered first. with Cynthia.

Her Fruit Salad. our drinks are Vanilla Milk Shake and my Ribena 7up.

Mushroom soup. looks different. not much portion too..

my Rib eye Steak, i told them it was Elephant Chop. then they even tried to find it in the menu. WHERE GOT ELEPHANT CHOP?! tell me wad u eat faster.

ELEPHANT CHOP LA AHAHHAH!

with mushroom sauce but it looked like someone lausai on my steak.

Beef Spagetti Cabonara,  i think.

Cynthia’s Lamb Chop, she ordered medium rare. but came out disappointing. KADO better hor.

Rib Eye Steak, the fine dining style of photography ahahah…

and most of them had chicken chop. very little portion.

this is Sherwin’s Lamb Shank. he kept on asking me wad to eat and wads nice. he said he like lamb. but lamb chop’s portion was too little

so i recomended Lamb Shank. its a big bony one but i bet u cant finish it.

MARRY BROWN and SUNDAY MARKET

first i wanna say sorry for not editing all pics ahahha! lazy kut.

alright MARRY BROWN SATOK is where me and the Gang. its not my gang. but the Gang im with and part of.

heres my Mushroom Sauce Chicken Combo.

why i say disappointing because they reuse the OIL OVER AND OVER AGAIN. and the chicken tasted like CHAO TA! burnt or over cooked. especially the skin. which is my favorite part of THE CHICKEN! and it tasted so bad. of cos la. potong my appetite lo. make me wish i was at KFC. haha.

tried to stuff everything in. well..

still theres always someone who is against my oppinion. cos they still say MARRY BROWN is their favourite food.

well mine will always be KFC. or i rather dine in Chica.go 7. the chicken is better.

we saw the APAM BALIK STALL! where i think makes good business. and when we took out our camera, THEY SHYOK ABIS! FEELING FEMES. ahhah!.

6 working PANS for action. can feel the heat standing beside it. now adays its the THIN SLICE APAM BALIK used to be the thick one rite. so now consume 1 will never be enough.

Thanks to SUPASTA EDWIN THEN. he bought 10 pcs for the GANG to share.

Visiting on Gawai Day. Kampung Giam, Padawan.

around 1030am this morning, Darrel picked me up together with Hes dad and Eve. we went visiting. to their long term sevant, Kelly. her kampung.

at Kampung Giam.

here is the junction into the kampung. and its indeed a very hot and hazy weather. i wanted to wear shorts but pai nee ler… better not la ahah.

here we reached the modernised kampung. why i say modern. cos GOT CAR. and CAR CAN GO IN. ahhaah!. but the building or houses still old skool la ehhe.

at the back of Kelly’s house is this Gunung Bario, i asked one of them there. and thats wad i heard. ah ekekek… but the crap thing about nice views in kch is tat. they always get blocked by this electric pilar.

like the texture of the mountain. tho hazy but still can see la ahha.

hungry time. feeding time. i like this lemang. very very nice. they gave my aunt one inside the bamboo… nice oh wei… i ate one piece only… du wanna get over bloated.

ayam pansuh. very nice also… they cook it using bamboo shoot, put inside the bamboo shoot, and u cook with charcoal outside the house. and of course its Kampung Chicken. Yummy!

Curry Beef. i din eat. scared indigestion later keekke… i know my stomach well. but i ate the wild boar meat tho. din take pic cos was eating already keek. and i left my camera on the other sofa eheh.

dessert. BATANG BURUK, sounds wrong, another name for it is

KAYU BURUK. i dunno how they made it. i know the coating is milk powder and sugar. and its do delicious!

URBAN ROOTS 2009, Sago Worms

theres a Pre Gawai Showcase at Cold Storage. i was told from permium Anna. so i went with Ting lo. and meet the rest of the Gang there.

the first thing i saw is this. nice creative work done rite. wad do u call this? they way its done? i have no clue. they call it beading. so i suppose so too.

they gonna have to start from this. till the end. it will take them 3 months, said the lady there when i asked. 3 month! 1week i beh tahan lo. or even 1 hour hahaha. they really have. PATIENT…

Darrel my cousin was one of them contestant. macam so cool uh. belum tau lagi pok.. all guys were macho when there get up there. ahahha! 4 guys one woman. waseh. kalah to a girl is a malu thing oh ahhaha.

and they didnt know till they were told to eat 10pcs of LIVE!  Sago Worms. OMG! 10 wor. 10 ah!. 10 wei!

but before competition starts. they must nyirup first ahah! means they have to drink the Tuak, or Rice Wine first. i think to help them digest lo.

Happy Bak Chang Festival 2009

Every year my mom will make Bak Chang for us, relatives and friends. and some for my close friend(s) heheh.. if she allows. this post is about how she make it. wrapping up from Pandan Leaf with Glutinous Rice and Chopped to bits Pork meat with Mushrooms , HEHBEE (fried shrimp, i think) and the sweet sweet stuff i dunno how u call it ahhaha!.

Its the Nyonya Bak Chang.

here is the fried glutinous rice.

Pandan leaf curved it in to the angle needed. and hold it firmly. if u slip then u need to redo it. this thing need experience and skills. i asked her do u need help from my friends, she went mai mai mai.. chitkeng later mai mai mai. hahah!. do alone better. no need waste time, oh ok lo.. as u wish. but i kinda pity her lo.. sendiri buat. my aunt dun wanna help her. she rather help her neighbour. sobx.

then u put the rice in. look at how she holds it. then spread it to the side for space to put the LEMAK PORK MEAT WOOTZ!!!

and of cos the nut is the most important one!.

added more meat to cover it..

and more rice to cover the meat.

wrap it up and tie it with the specific type of string.

and leave it hanging till it reached 10 per bundle.

after that to put it at one side waiting to let it boil. boiling takes about 1 hour i think or more im not sure.. i know she uses a big barrel to boil. which can fit about 4-6 bundles. she uses 2 barrels so can save more time.

here are those cooked ones. oh my aunt helped to wrap some 70pcs and i went to collect them to bring home for boil… and my uncle ordered 100pcs to give away. so mom have to wrap another 30 for him then the rest are for own relatives and friends.

TADAH!!! tataTATADAH!!!! looks great isnt it. the aroma smells great. even my uncle can smell it from the garage outside hahahah! not this one la but those at the back which mom just took out from the barrel.

KUA TIOK TU SONG AH!.. ahhah! but i cant take much each time. i dun care wad ur record is. mine max is 2. and im bloated already for the rest of the afternoon till dinner even.

feel like getting a bite or not ah? want ler want ler haaahah! hungry mer.. not really la hor kekekek…

for my lovely friends from the gang. im sorry i cant send or give more. i wish i could. but wad if, if ur reading my blog. u can drop by my house. i will prepare some for u guys. and we makan together. and hang out at my house celebrating the Bak Chang Festival together. aint tat a great idea? yes? no?
