thanks Edwin and Fred from Techno Expo for organizing this superb event recently at the Borneo Convention Centre.

the Gang Group Jumping shot before entering the event tat night… about 10 of us covering for the event.

pics below are already posted in my FB. but hey this is a written post not just photos.

in the ICE COLD EVENT HALL.. yea.. its freakin cold. was shivering. eventho walking around u can still feel the breeze. of cos lah. its a brand air con from a brand new building. the Gang Walking around observing the hall.

HEAL THE WORLD. tribute to the King Of Pop. a Medley was sung by artist from different local bands.

Andy was one of them.

if im not mistaken this girl from Orion Burn, Chien Chien is her name i think..

she’s got a very good voice.

and also started off with HipHop dance performance.

brilliant act , very creative choreography, and very entertaining. good job.

they are Soulz Crew. correct ka. correct me if im wrong k.

this dude below is Sab. a very talented kid.

i like this shot.. everyone participating.

next up was MIX… Malaysian In Xtion and the Band.  a very talented rapper band.

Susanna, Chris and Annette too came to this event.

next up Orion Burn. actually there were another band performing. due to kena halau. we almost left the building. cos food there cost a bomb and is not worth it. but then we continued shooting till the very end. if we left.

FOL,Youth Praise Rally 2009

Family of Love conference 2009 Day 1, i din bring my camera in the morning because i wanna concentrate on the event and to listen and input more. becos if i start shooting i wont stop. and i will stop listening.

some photographers who knew im one. asked me why. i told them my reasons. so tat evening. theres a Youth Praise Rally. praise and worship from 8pm till 10pm.

yea i went there myself. the only person i get to talk to. was my fostermom.

but most of the time i concentrate on shooting la ahhahah..

here is the electrical drum set. looks good man!

Youth from the Bread of Life community. yea and im one of them now.

everytime theres a concert of singing on stage for me, its.

EXPRESSION TIME! yea! if u were there that night. u would feel the energy too.

i met few of them already and talked to some of them too…

Christopher sings with high energy. praise GOd!

and erm i forgotten hes name. bro said he was from the Betong NS camp too.

Eric shared, “a friend asked, why u always goes to church, why so holy one?”

Eric replied: we go to church not because we are holy, its because we are sinners!”

Urban Roots 2009, Cooked Sago Worms.

ok heres the second part. and to show u the rest of the gang eating friend sago worms with onion and dark soy sauce.

before that. heres the tuak. THEY HAVE BEEN DRINKING since the beginning of the showcase. i mean those at the showcase. some from the gang tried and Steve even bought one back to palau with hes girl.

not only TUak ,  TUAK ROTI PAUN, u pronounce it PA-UN.

Tuak, or Rice Wine in various Liquor Bottle. haha!.

and they dressed up like they are from FLIGHT MH 2009 LK. ahaha! like MAS air stewardess hor. haah!. TUAK OR LANGKAU SIR?

and also traditional “TATTOO” demo. with Marker. demo ma.

here u go. they fry the SAGO WORMS ALIVE! we look at it die slowly from the heat off the pan. sibeh cruel lo!

and about 10minutes later. its cooked.! and its looked even GROSS!

without a doubt we tried. oh Anna got my pic, non of myself in my camera.

after all the influences. i tot this was a sago worm on hes ears too! ahahah!

after the worm eating ceremony. the Tribal Tattoo is done!. WOOTZ!

here an idea how to screw ur mind for the grossed out ppl at the showcase hahah..

when ever ur eating ur favourite BAK KUT TEH! when ur eating ur Yew Cha Kueh. this is exactly how it looked like inside of the Sago Worms!

like the Yew Cha Kueh rite! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

oh no… no more yew cha kueh for u ahahhaha!!! and honestly.

it tasted like your favourite yew cha kueh. wriggley yew cha kueh ahahah!.

URBAN ROOTS 2009, Sago Worms

theres a Pre Gawai Showcase at Cold Storage. i was told from permium Anna. so i went with Ting lo. and meet the rest of the Gang there.

paiseh din take pic of that showcase place. always lupak one ahah. and tat afternoon is the hottest afternoon of all! JUAK! PANAS! RE!

the first thing i saw is this. nice creative work done rite. wad do u call this? they way its done? i have no clue. they call it beading. so i suppose so too.

to make this…

they gonna have to start from this. till the end. it will take them 3 months, said the lady there when i asked. 3 month! 1week i beh tahan lo. or even 1 hour hahaha. they really have. PATIENT…

the main event is THIS!!! SAGO WORM EATING COMPETITION! OMG Freaking gross ok! its like eating someones toe. ewww… and they bites. i dare not touch them.

Darrel my cousin was one of them contestant. macam so cool uh. belum tau lagi pok.. all guys were macho when there get up there. ahahha! 4 guys one woman. waseh. kalah to a girl is a malu thing oh ahhaha.

and they didnt know till they were told to eat 10pcs of LIVE!  Sago Worms. OMG! 10 wor. 10 ah!. 10 wei!

but before competition starts. they must nyirup first ahah! means they have to drink the Tuak, or Rice Wine first. i think to help them digest lo.

wah itu aunty nyirup the tuak! yea its sweet.

look at hes expression. syok gila ahhaha! nice ka nice ka! he said taste like KFC bo ahahahh! jk Jk… not tat bad but GROSS!

theres a way to eat it. like the aunty. she ate without the head. so it wont bite. she eat like eating kuaci wei so fast ahahah!.

this act macho dude here. almost crap hes pants when he ate the first one!. the organizers said, it doesnt matter u win or lose. u will have to finish it all!. WAH PIANG EH! but darrel only ate 4. the rest of the 6. they masak it.

heres an IBAN WARRIOR dancing with hes blow pipe. and he is very accurate when aiming for the balloon some 10ft away.

heres one of the traditional dance pose. look at their ethnic costumes. cool huh. the tribal sheild.

after the iban warrior performance next up is i dunno from which culture. they looked so cute in that costumes. their dancing looked like they are catching chickens. ehhee…

after the performances from SCV… the beauty pageant contestants came out with their FNL shirt and jeans. to walk on the bamboo made stage for the audience and photographers again!. and they look gorgeous.

No1. with the sweetest smile. and tallest girl among all. and she is only 19 i think. a student from Segi.

they all pakai tiyauku hahah! superlow  jeans!.

Miss Fair and Lovely World Harvest Festival 2009 Live at tHe Spring Shopping Mall, their theme, ETHNIC BEAUTY PAGEANT.

yea i was told so i went there. with some from the Gang. Many “PRO” photographers there with their huge lenses trying to scare us with small lenses away. but their mission failed. tho they gave us their “PRO FACE” but it didn’t work man! try again next time k.
